Our Sawtooth Oaks are grown as bare root seedlings in our greenhouse before moving outdoors to be hardened off. They are grouped in a bundle of 5 and are available to be shipped this fall, when they are dormant and ready to be planted.
Sawtooth Oak Trees are non-native acorn producing trees originally introduced to the United States in the late 1800s as an alternative to native oak species. Able to produce acorns by 10 years of age and heights of 40 to 70 feet. A favorite for deer, turkey, and other wildlife.
Prefers rich moist soil that is well-drained along with full sun. Perfect for shade and for natural bordering.
